Well, 2020 has been a year like no other! Lockdown was an unpleasant experience as I was unable to see friends and family. And, of course, I missed the chance to paint with friends. One regular event that normally runs from spring – autumn are weekly painting days with the Wapping Group of Artists. But, unable to physically meet to paint together, we reverted to a virtual paint each week. A venue was chosen and information from photographs taken on previous visits and/or sketchbook drawings completed at the site were used to help our work. This method presented some challenges and is certainly not the best way to paint as we are primarily a plein air group.
